Prague, 6 June 2011 – The summer music-festival season is fast approaching. For the fourth year in a row, T-Mobile is the general partner of the popular Rock for People music festival, which is again being held under the t-music brand. Visitors can look forward to several promotions and new events, such as discounted tickets for 5 July and a quiz contest to win very attractive prizes.
“Being both a music fan and our customer really pays off,” says Markéta Vychytilová, Senior Head of Sponsoring & Events at T-Mobile, adding: “We'll reward our loyal customers with discounted tickets and other practical gifts at the venue – raincoats, inflatable seats and blankets. Visitors of the t-music sky tent will be able to enjoy a luxurious view. Moreover, we have prepared a refreshing surprise for them within the Magic Tuesday on 5 July.”
The 17th annual Rock for People festival will take place on 2-5 July 2011, again at the Festival Park in Hradec Králové. Fans of good music can look forward to the following special activities and events:
Two tickets for the price of one
Sales of 1+1 tickets for the Magic Tuesday of 5 July kick off today. Every customer purchasing one ticket for 5 July 2011 will receive two tickets for the price of one. This special offer expires at midnight on 1 July. The price of one ticket is CZK 1,200. Tickets will be available in the form of mobile-phone tickets and can be purchased at www.t-music.cz/rockforpeople. At the venue, one-day ticket will cost CZK 1,400 each.

Before the festival begins, fans can spend time testing their knowledge in an SMS contest, which starts on 20 June. Visitors can win very attractive prizes:

What else?
As in previous years, T-Mobile customers can look forward to a double-decker t-music sky tent offering a unique view of the t-music stage from the first floor. On the ground floor, tired fans can chill out by playing games in the gaming section.
Several fun activities related to the new international Angry Birds campaign have been prepared for all visitors – free internet access during the entire festival, a stand with the latest smart phones and tablets which visitors can try out. As usual, festival-goers will also be able to charge their phones in the recharging corner. A new service – festival lockers – has been prepared for visitors. The service will be free of charge for T-Mobile customers; others will pay CZK 50 per day. As the festival grounds are vast, the possibility to use a scooter to move around faster will surely come in handy.
Green festival
The concentration of several thousand people in one place poses a not insignificant burden on the environment. Therefore the organisers have been constantly trying to reduce the festival's overall ecological footprint and have come up with new “green” ideas every year.
“Sustainable development is one of the key pillars of T-Mobile's social responsibility. Therefore we have decided that this year we will not only provide services and experiences to festival-goers, but we will also financially support the overall green-festival concept, primarily the recycling and waste-sorting programme,” says Petra Pavičová, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at T-Mobile.
For the second year in a row, almost all waste generated by the Rock for People festival will go through a waste-sorting line which will be brought to the grounds. The system of sorted-waste collection and subsequent recycling is based on a network of collection points (“green points”) whose number has been significantly increased. Visitors will have the possibility to place discarded plastic, paper, aluminium and glass in separate large bins. As Rock for People has decided to be truly “greener”, it also supports alternative forms of transportation to the festival venue (e.g., visitors will have the possibility to use the festival shuttle service to and from the festival grounds and to borrow scooters, and bicycle stands will be available for cyclists). Our forests will be saved too, as all promotional materials will be printed on recycled paper, and the toilet paper in all 250 TOI TOI portable toilets will also be made from recycled material. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about topical environmental issues (such as solar energy generation) in the Green Village set up under the auspices of Greenpeace.
Big names to hit the stage
The festival line-up includes such big names as My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Pendulum, Bullet For My Valentine, The Streets, Digitalism, Kate Nash and Jimmy Eat World, to name just a few. Czech musicians scheduled to play at the festival include, for example, Charlie Straight, Chinaski, Kryštof, Michal Hrůza, Nightwork, Mother's Angels, Republic of Two, Skyline, Sto zvířat, Sunshine, Tata Bojs, Tři sestry, Wohnout and Vypsaná Fixa.
