Paegas Customers Can Create Their Own Infochannels
Prague, 4 December 2001 â?" RadioMobil launched a new service called My Info yesterday. With My Info, each Paegas customer can create his or her own infochannel. Information from this channel is then distributed to all Paegas users who have subscribed to the channel.
â?śThe service will find use everywhere where a group of people are provided the same information. The range of areas where the service can be used is thus very wide. Companies can use it to effectively communicate with their customers and business partners. Also the communication within the company can be improved by creating internal company infochannels. Our new service will also be certainly welcomed by the general public. It will find use with various interest groups, amateur clubs and fan clubs,â?ť says Robert Chvátal, Marketing Director and Member of the Board of RadioMobil.
Description of the service
Infochannels can be created by any Paegas user. When creating the channel, the owner will define if the channel is going to be public or private. Public infochannels are accessible to all Paegas users and are listed in the Public Channels Catalogue at www.click.cz. Unlike the public channels, private channels are accessible only to groups of authorised users and are not listed in the Catalogue. A private channel owner can define a list of phone numbers that will be authorised to access the distributed information, thus preventing other users from accessing the channel.
After creating an infochannel, the owner can start inserting contributions. Such information is then distributed to all people who have subscribed to the channel. My Info works a similar way as Paegas Info: The recipient can have the information sent on a one-time basis or can order a regular distribution of new messages. Depending on the set-up of the particular channel, the delivery of the message is paid either by the recipient, or the channel owner. The latter variant will be used especially by companies, e.g. for sending advertisements via the infochannel. As opposed to spamming (sending of unsolicited messages), messages will be sent only to customers who will request them.
Infochannels can be created and administered via the internet at www.click.cz in ClickProfil under the SMS Services item, or via ClickWAP or SMS. In the same way it is possible to subscribe to the infochannel.
Examples of use
My Info can be used for a variety of purposes. It will find use in the commercial as well as non-commercial spheres. It can be used as a tool for loyalty programmes or the sending of current sales offers. E.g. restaurants can create their own infochannels and inform their customers of the noon menu or the happy hour. Real estate agents can send clients information on the current real estate offers. Travel agencies can update customers on last minute specials. Publishing houses or music recording companies can send their customers information on new products, top sales lists or interesting news from the given area. As far as the non-commercial use is concerned, for example theatres can use My Info to inform the viewers of dates of advance ticket sales or premieres that are being planned. The new service will also find use with various interest groups, amateur clubs and fan clubs that can inform their members of the current programme of their favourite team or various interesting topics.
Price
A My Info channel owner will pay a yearly fee of CZK 100 (for an information channel whose name is 5 to 9 characters long) or CZK 800 (for an information channel whose name is 3 to 4 characters long). The price of an SMS received from a My Info channel is CZK 1.50, which will be paid either by the recipient of the message or the channel owner, depending on the set-up of the channel. An SMS sent to 5566 is charged according to the customerâ??s tariff.
Detailed instructions on how to use My Info can be found at www.paegas.cz and www.paegasprofessional.cz and in brochures that are available at Paegas shops.
