Prague, 20 September 2018 – T-Mobile will soon offer its customers a new modem that no other operator in the world is offering yet. Intended for the Pevný internet vzduchem (“Fixed-Line Internet over the Air”) service, the Huawei B2368 modem enables better use of the network, allowing the operator to offer even faster internet access via LTE to customers in areas where this was not previously possible.
The Pevný internet vzduchem service, which the operator introduced in spring last year, is very popular among customers because it offers high-speed internet access also in areas where, for example, good quality fixed-line infrastructure is missing. T-Mobile is the only operator on the market offering fixed-line internet access via LTE with speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The operator will offer the new Huawei B2368 model for lease with the service for a monthly fee of CZK 50.
“I am very happy that we are the first operator in the world which can offer the new modem to its customers. The modem brings yet another improvement to the Fixed-Line Internet offer, enabling our customers to enjoy better quality of services. At the same time, the service can be offered on an even larger scale,” says Juraj Bóna, Vice President B2C Marketing and Product Management at T-Mobile. “The new device brings benefits both for our customers and for us as a network operator. We were involved in the final stage of the device’s development and its extensive testing before putting it on the market to ensure the best possible customer experience,” explains Jan Fišer, Innovations Manager at T-Mobile.
The Huawei B2368 LTE modem enables internet access for households. The indoor unit features an access point supporting 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection; if necessary, customers can also use three LAN ports (Gigabit Ethernet). The modem supports both the existing and planned LTE bands and technologies, including 4x4MIMO (FDD and TDD) and Carrier Aggregation. The device offers a broad range of possible configurations and boasts a high level of security. The indoor unit is powered by a 230V network adapter; the outdoor unit, which contains the LTE component, is connected with the indoor unit via an Ethernet cable for outdoor use, which serves not only for data transmission but also for power supply to the outdoor unit (Power over Ethernet).
The device recently received the renowned Red Dot Design Award, an equivalent of the “Oscars” in design.
