Prague, January 13, 2020 – T-Mobile has become a partner of a unique journalism competition for high school students. Their task is to work arbitrarily on the topic “What do you think will change the covid”. Thanks to cooperation with the organizers – the info.cz portal and the Higher Vocational School of Journalism – we will have the opportunity to find out for the first time how high school students look at the almost year-long pandemic. They can send their works until February 28, 2021, the results will be announced during March.
“The pandemic revealed weaknesses and fundamentally affected our lives. Everyone asks their opinion for parents, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs. But so far no one was interested in what the young generation thought of this situation. Students, even because of the novelty in the form of distance learning, were hit absolutely fundamentally,” says Petr Jonák, T-Mobile's manager of corporate and external affairs.
Cooperation with schools and their support during a pandemic, helping socially disadvantaged families with distance learning of children, media literacy and the fight against fake news are T-Mobile's long-term priorities. Therefore, the operator decided to support a journalism competition for high school students organized by the opinion portal info.cz and the Higher Vocational School of Journalism with the topic: “Become a journalist and describe to us what do you think that covid will change!”
The question is open, as is the genre by which the participants process it. Gloss, article, report, commentary, video, podcast, infographics or a separate special website – there are no limits to your imagination. The best works, which will be continuously selected by an expert jury composed of representatives of the organizer, top journalists and partners, will be published both on info.cz and on social networks. And the best of the best will not only attract the attention of tens of thousands of readers or viewers, but will also get great prizes. In addition, everyone who qualifies for the competition and the editor publishes a contribution will receive the My Student 100 tariff and unlimited SD data for free for three months from T-Mobile.
