Votes and Contributions to TV Programs Can Be Sent as Text Messages from Paegas Mobile Phones

• All owners of Paegas mobile phones can actively participate in selected programs of Czech Television
• The group of Paegas Info services based on SMS text messages is continually expanding

Owners of Paegas mobile phones can contribute to five different programs of Czech Television using SMS messages â?" they can select videos, or express consent or dissent with opinions of participants in debates on social issues. â?śWe have now added SMS short text messages to the number of common ways of voting in TV programs. Every owner of a Paegas mobile phone can hence easily express herself/himself to questions posed in various television programs,â?ť said the spokeswoman of RadioMobil Tereza Kakosová.

Videos are chosen in the programs Neváhej a toÄŤ, Medúza and POP 2001, current social developments are dealt with in the political weekly Bez imunity and in the program ÄŚerná a bílá. Votes can be sent anytime, only in the case of the weekly Bez imunity are the votes registered only during the broadcast. Detailed information will be provided in given TV programs and on the teletext.

When voting, the customer sends an SMS in the form HLA_keyword_text. The keyword changes according to the program, the text can be for instance: yes, no, 1,2,3, a, b, câ?? For example the message HLA BEZ ANO means, that the user agrees with the statement given in the program Bez imunity. The sender pays two crowns for each vote. If a Paegas user wants to contribute to a debate, s/he sends the message in the form DBT_keyword_text, where the text is limited by the text message length, that is 160 characters. Three crowns are charged for each contribution. All messages (voting as well as debate contributions) are sent to the Paegas Info number 4616.

Viewers express consent or dissent with a statement concerning some of current social issues. Debating parties try to support or disprove this statement during the program. The service is interconnected with phone voting and current status is being displayed directly in the broadcast as a ratio of votes for and against. 5. ÄŚERNÁ A BÍLÁ	HLA CBI
Again, viewers can agree or disagree with a statement about up-to-date daily news. The service is interconnected with phone voting. Results are brought into the open always on the following day at the beginning of the program. Broadcast time: Monday - Friday 6:35 p.m. - 6:50 p.m. Voting time: anytime

In 2001 CMobil is going to enforce an option that will increase its stake in RadioMobil from the existing 49 % to 60.8 %.

Today, the Paegas GSM network covers over 99% of the Czech population and 99.8% of first class roads. RadioMobil customers may use their mobile phones in networks of 199 operators from 87 countries of the whole world (120 various locations altogether). By the end of 2000, more than 1,850,000 customers were using Paegas services.
