Stephan Eger, the current Senior Vice President Group Investor Relations at Deutsche Telekom (DT), has been appointed the new Finance Director of T-Mobile Czech Republic with effect from 1 July 2015. Stephan Eger will be replacing Otakar Král, who will assume the position of Director of Strategic Projects at DT's Finance Europe Division on the same date.
Otakar Král (1966) has been with T-Mobile Czech Republic (formerly Radiomobil) since the company's entry into the market in 1996, holding several management positions in T-Mobile’s Finance Department. Appointed Finance Director in 2002, he significantly contributed to T-Mobile achieving the leading position in the Czech market in the following years both in terms of the number of customers and profitability. Recently, he was involved in the successful integration of T-Systems Czech Republic and GTS Czech.
From 1 July 2015, Otakar Král will hold the position of Director of Strategic Projects at Deutsche Telekom's Finance Europe Division, supporting Ralph Rentschler, Senior Vice President Finance Europe.
"I would like to thank Ota for his stamina and unflagging commitment in performing the duties of his demanding position for so many years. During the years in which we have worked together, I realised many times how great it is to work with a finance director whose opinions are not only driven by a narrow focus on finance," says Milan Vašina, T-Mobile's Managing Director, adding: "I would like to wish Ota a lot of success in his new role and I would like to welcome aboard Stephan, who I believe will bring new energy to our team and business."
Stephan Eger (1967) joined DT in 2007 as the Investor Relations Manager. He was responsible for transparent and constructive dialogue with institutional and minor shareholders. In the past eight years, he has received a number of awards for outstanding achievement in investor relations: last year he was awarded the Thomson Reuters Extel prize for the quality of investor relations and the "Deutscher Investor Relations Preis" presented by German investors.
In his new role, Stephan will be responsible for all financial operations within the company. As a member of TMZC's top management, he will contribute to the general management of the company and development of its business and will be responsible for the operator's performance and overall results.
