The 'electronic beats club tour' will take place in May, with N.O.H.A., Ohm Square and Dj Bassline Smith all appearing
Prague, 13 April 2007: The 'electronic beats' festival visited the Czech Republic for the first time in its history last year. In October 2006, dance scene legends The Prodigy were among the performers at Prague's Veletržní palác. This year there will be more events under the 'electronic beats' banner.
On Thursday 24 May, the three-day 'electronic beats club tour' will begin in Prague's Lucerna Music Bar, and will continue on 25 May in Brno's Fléda and on 26 May in the Fabric club in Ostrava. The cosmopolitan group N.O.H.A. appeared to resounding success at last year's 'electronic beats' and this time will present, as part of the 'electronic beats club tour', a completely up-to-date repertoire from the Dive in Your Life album to be released in May on the Unique label. The second group in this tour is Ohm Square, currently working on a new album -- this will be the first time they will play some of their completely new pieces in public. After the concert performances, the club nights will continue with a DJ set by British drum'n'bass pioneer Simon Bassline Smith, followed by DJs Josef Sedloň, Katcha and Jan2.
The 'electronic beats' festival will be held this autumn at Veletržní palác in Prague. Fans will be able to follow the 'electronic beats' project throughout the year on the Óčko television channel, which will be broadcasting several recordings made during 'electronic beats' festivals around Europe.
N.O.H. A. - NOISE.OF.HUMAN.ART
N.O.H.A. attracted a great deal of attention with their debut album, which identified them as pop-avantgarde artists. N.O.H.A. is cosmopolitan: singer Minerva Diaz Perez comes from the Spanish city of Gijon and rapper Chevy from New York. The leaders of the band are Philip Noha, a saxophonist originally from Prague, and German keyboardist Jochen Eickenberg - these two also write the majority of the band's work. After the albums Noise Of Human Art (1997), No Slack (2001) and Next Plateau (2003), this May their fourth album, entitled Dive in Your Life, will be released on the Unique label. It will be a mix of the most varied rhythmic sounds, drum'n'bass, electronic jazz, pop and dance rhythms. Anybody who has seen their video performance on www.planet-noha.com will have some idea of what we have in store.

Ohm Square
The Czech band Ohm Square was established by Jan Čechtický together with Dušan Lipert and Jan Kleník in 1996. Shortly after they recorded their first tracks, they invited Charlie One to Prague, the singer of a cult house hit entitled 'Petal' by London-based Wubble-U, who subsequently remained with Ohm Square.
In 1996 they released, on the Mr. Cucumber label, their first vinyl single with the tracks 'Pillow' and 'Coloured Post'. In 1997 their debut album Ohmophonica (Next Era) was released in the Czech Republic. Ohm Square began recording their second CD, Scion, in Prague in their own Eastauthentic studio, and continued their work in the London Strange Weather studio owned by the British Wubble-U. Duncan Forbes of the British Spooky produced the album. In 2001 they released an album of remixes on their own Eastauthentic label, and began to produce their own tracks. Their third album, entitled 'Love Classics', appeared in stores in April 2005. Preparations for another regular album are now reaching a peak.

Simon Bassline Smith
Simon Bassline Smith was influenced by genres such as underground funk, soul and hip-hop, which thus found outlet through his work. He became a respected creative musician in Britain and the co-founder of the music genre known today as 'rave'. His DJ performances have resulted in the demise of more than one speaker, and this was partly the reason for his nickname 'Bassline'.
In the 1990s he founded his own label, Absolute 2, which in its time was the only label in the world to focus exclusively on drum'n'bass. The music he produced brought to the scene albums such as Music and Life, Palomino (Absolute 2) and Midnight (Good Looking).
In 1998 he founded, together with Drumsound, the formation of DJs and producers, the Technique Recordings label that produced tracks for, among others, the eminent Grooverider. Bassline Smith and Drumsound have just released a second album entitled Street Technique on the Technique Recordings label, which features tracks by, for example, Roni Size and Fresh.
