T-Mobile Urges Customers: â?śLet Your Rock & Roll outâ?ť

  • The largest T-Mobile campaign so far this year is accompanied by the slogan                                           “Let Your Rock & Roll out“
  • n Extensive marketing campaign to cover five European markets

Prague, 6 June 2003 - T-Mobile has unveiled a major marketing activity underpinning its sponsorship of the European leg of The Rolling Stones Licks World Tour. The guiding principle of the advertising campaign, the largest so far this year, is that everyone has a bit of rock'n'roll in them.

"We expect this campaign to be a high-quality connection of a large sponsoring project with traditional marketing communication and so we have decided to use a broad marketing mix. Within the campaign, we are offering a special Siemens C55 Twist set with the Rock'n'Roll tariff and the opportunity to make calls for CZK 1 per minute or a free concert ticket," says Martin Horák, Vice President Marketing Communication of T-Mobile.

The campaign includes a TV ad, directed by Leigh Marling and Rob Leggatt of Blue Source. The music accompanying the ad starts an idea that becomes contagious. For example, a female busker stops her classical recital, choosing instead to smash up her violin in true rock star style, there is an air-guitar playing waiter and a group of stage-diving, crowd-surfing tourists.

The TV campaign started in Germany, and in addition to the Czech Republic, it will also run in the UK, Austria and the Netherlands at varying times until the end of August. The media schedule reflects the timing of The Rolling Stones concerts in each country.

In the Czech Republic, the media mix includes, in addition to traditional TV ads, print advertisements, radio spots and a wide range of outdoor advertising media - posters at schools and in the Prague Metro, city lights and billboards.

The rock legend's Rolling Stones Licks European Tour 2003 started in Munich on Wednesday and will continue in thirteen other European cities. In the Czech Republic, the Rolling Stones concert will take place on 27 July at Letná in Prague.
