Prague, 29 October 2009 - "We give away joy." This is T-Mobile's motto for this Christmas. In a knowledge-based contest, T-Mobile customers will get a chance to win one of 100,000 handsets every day. All they need is to have fast fingers and a quick wit. Every day, T-Mobile will give away more than two thousand handsets, so the odds of winning are very high.
"This year we have decided to change our Christmas offer and give our customers reasons to be joyful. We are convinced that 100,000 mobile phones as contest prizes is a unique gift idea," says Petr Dvořák, Executive Vice President Marketing.
Nokia for odds, Samsung for evens
T-Mobile helps its customers solve the dilemma of what to give their loved ones for Christmas. Every hour, customers have a chance to win 84 Nokia and Samsung handsets in a knowledge-based contest. In addition, every day T-Mobile will award a T-Mobile G1 handset to one of the contest participants.
The contest runs from 00:00:00 on 1 November 2009 until 23:59:59 on 20 December 2009. Every hour one contest round will kick off with a new question.
To enter the contest in any contest hour, customers need to send a SMS with VANOCE to 2009. The price of such SMS and of every subsequent SMS sent to the same number is CZK 9 including VAT. Based on this text message, the customer will receive a question, which is changed every hour. The answers to the questions must be sent to the same number, i.e. 2009. If the customer does not answer correctly, he/she will receive a text message with a clue.
The fact that T-Mobile values its loyal customers will be reflected in the number of clues sent. Each customer will receive at least three clues via SMS and the more active the customer is, the more clues he/she will receive. T-Mobile will send a maximum of ten clues.
If the answer is correct, customers will receive a confirmation in a text message and in the following contest hour they will find out whether or not they were among the 84 fastest and cleverest participants. The lucky winners will receive a Nokia or Samsung handset, depending on whether they were among the odd‑numbered (1,3,5,7, etc.) or even-numbered winners. Odd-numbered winners can look forward to a Nokia 1662, while the even-numbered will receive a Samsung E1120.
In addition to the prizes awarded every hour, customers will get a chance to win the daily prize, a T‑Mobile G1. One winner will be chosen daily from those customers who send the most correct answers (i.e., a maximum of 24), based on the shortest time needed for answering the questions.
All participants in the contest may win a maximum of three hourly prizes and one daily prize during the whole contest.
