T-Mobile: The best offer for families

Prague, 30 August 2011 – With the beginning of the new school year, T-Mobile is introducing a range of new services for families. The popular T-Mobile Family add-on has been extended from five to seven group members. An interesting offer has also been prepared for long-call enthusiasts: with the T-Mobile Rodina nadlouho (T-Mobile Family Long Calls), calls will be free of charge after the third minute. Existing users of the T-Mobile Family add-on can make use of new Rodinný internet v mobilu (Family Mobile Internet) data bundles. Customers can also keep tabs on family expenditures and increase the safety of their children or family pets with the help of the Rodina v bezpečí (Safe Family) service. Similar services will be available to business customers within the T-Mobile Team add-on. All offers are valid from 8 September.

“Introduction of the new services was preceded by an extensive survey focused on communication within families. Information gained through the survey was used as the main input when designing the new family services,” says Milan Vašina, T-Mobile's Managing Director, adding: “It is probably no surprise that the role of the ‘exchange’ is fulfilled by mothers, as a full 81% of communication is conducted through them. The survey has also confirmed that mobile telephones not only play the key role in family communication but they are also perceived by customers as an important safety element.”

Expansion of the T-Mobile Family add-on
The survey of customers revealed an interesting finding – a full 70% of private communication takes place outside the immediate family. T-Mobile has therefore decided to extend the number of group members from the current five to seven persons. Group members can make unlimited calls and send unlimited text and picture messages to each other for a single monthly fee. The offer applies to both new and existing customers.

T-Mobile Rodina nadlouho
An interesting new service, which will surely be appreciated by avid callers, is T-Mobile Rodina nadlouho. It consists of a bundle of long calls for a very favourable price – the first three minutes are charged according to the tariff plan of the group member making the call; the remaining portion of the call is then free of charge (or, more precisely, the cost is covered by the single common monthly fee payable for the service). Another advantage of this service is that free minutes available under the caller’s tariff plan are applied to the first three minutes of calls. The add-on can be ordered with any mobile voice tariff plan; the monthly fee is charged to only one person – the group administrator.

Rodinný internet v mobilu
Internet v mobilu Standard and Klasik have now become a truly family service which can be used by several family members without having to worry about the size of the monthly bill. Hundreds of Czech korunas can be saved within these plans, as a single, very favourable fee is charged to only one person within the group – the administrator, while mobile internet access can be used by all members of the particular family. When the FUP limit is reached (100MB in the case of the Standard plan, 300MB in the case of the Klasik plan), each group member can purchase an increase of the limit.

Rodina v bezpečí
In the survey, customers often mentioned the need of safety elements that would help them better control expenditures and the safety of family members. They can now do so thanks to the Rodina v bezpečí service, which not only allows parents to keep tabs on phone bills but, for example, also provides information about emergency calls of individual family members.

Notification SMS inform the group administrator about the amount of credit of the individual members using the prepaid Twist card; if necessary, the administrator can top up a member’s credit immediately via SMS. T-Mobile also offers a unique service – Upozornění v tísni (Emergency Notification), when the administrator is informed automatically in the event that a group member calls any of the emergency lines (112, 150, 155, 156, 158). Such messages contain information about the number and the last known location of the caller. Another advantage is simple organisation of the whole group – customers no longer need to remember phone numbers of their family members, as they can assign names to the individual members and then use such names when setting up services, localisation parameters, etc.

The services available within the Rodina v bezpečí bundle can be ordered completely free of charge within the Family groups, or separately. In the latter case, customers pay the rates as per the price list applicable to the individual services. The group of safety services also includes Můj Limit (My Limit), Kde je (Where is...?), Sponzor (Sponsor) , Blokace samostatných služeb (Blocking of Individual Services), Upozornění v tísni, etc., which can be easily set up in the My T-Mobile application.

GPS Locator – a service for increasing the safety of family members
GPS Locator T300 is a localisation service intended for parents, those taking care of a sick person or senior citizen and pet or car owners. As the service uses GPS technology, location can be determined with greater precision than if using the mobile network; additionally, it also stores tracking data. GPS Locator continuously monitors the location of the user and can be checked at any time via SMS or on the map available at www.t-mobile.cz/gpslocator. Undesirable situations can also be detected with the help of the speed monitoring function, which sends a notification SMS when a set movement speed limit is exceeded.

In addition, users can very easily call a selected person by pressing a single key and, in case of danger, trigger the SOS alarm. The basic price is CZK 1,999 incl. VAT, though the matchbox-sized device is available for prices starting at CZK 1 upon extension of a subscriber contract. The monthly fee according to the M2M Premium, which includes all service-related traffic except for outgoing calls from the GPS Locator, costs CZK 120 incl. VAT. T-Mobile Team
The innovations, such as extension of the number of group members, possibility to make longer calls for cheaper prices and Team internet access for all group members, apply also to business customers using the T-Mobile Team add-on. Additionally, the Tým pod kontrolou (Team Under Control) service enables customers to keep control over costs and safety and is provided free of charge with the Team add-ons.
