Prague, 27 November 2003 - For the beginning of December, T-Mobile has prepared several new offers supporting the autumn offensive. "The future of mobile communications lies in data. Of course, calling and hearing the other party is irreplaceable but internet connection is becoming more and more important. And that is why we are offering attractive services in this area, confirming our goal of becoming the leading Czech operator in all aspects," says Jan Prokeš, Vice President Marketing for the business segment.
Most attractive GPRS on the Czech market
T-Mobile is now offering the fastest mobile connection to the internet available in the GSM network at an unrivalled monthly fee of CZK 699 (excl. VAT) within the T-Mobile GPRS Business service. The volume of data transmitted and the connection time are unlimited and users of this service thus do not have to worry about exceeding any limits and having to pay additional charges. Each customer who activates T-Mobile GPRS Business by the end of January 2004 will be able to use the service at the monthly fee of CZK 699 until the end of June 2004. Those who activate it in February or later will pay the monthly fee of CZK 999.
"Our offer is currently the best one on the Czech mobile market but it will certainly also cause worries for many internet providers working with other technologies," Jan Prokeš commented. T-Mobile is the only network in the Czech Republic to support the CS3 and CS4 coding schemes and can thus offer a transmission capacity of up to 85.6 kbps. This capacity can be further increased using the special GPRS Speed and Speed Plus applications which T-Mobile has been offering to its customers for some time.
T-Mobile HotSpots - the largest Wi-Fi network in the world
Professionals who travel a lot always need access to their e-mail and the internet. They can now use the services of T-Mobile HotSpots within the network of T-Mobile International and its partners. T-Mobile operates one of the world's largest commercial Wi-Fi networks. This network includes several thousand connection points in, for example, Starbucks coffee shops, at airports and in hotels in the UK, USA, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
T-Mobile is now extending the number of HotSpots in the Czech Republic as well. Presently there are sixteen HotSpots in the country; their number should reach around forty by the end of the year and should grow quickly.
While roaming, T-Mobile users can connect to the internet anywhere in the world in the same, easy way. T-Mobile customers (both contract and TWIST) can log in using a name and password which they receive upon request. Connection is charged per 15 minutes for CZK 20. Other users can pay for the use of HotSpots with their credit or debit cards. In such a case, an hour costs CZK 150, 3 hours CZK 200 and 24 hours CZK 500. The prices apply to the use of HotSpots within the territory of the Czech Republic.
The T-Mobile MDA II goes on sale
In December, T-Mobile exclusively launches the sale of a device combining the mobile phone with a PDA called the T-Mobile MDA II. "The T-Mobile MDA has become very popular. We are now starting to sell its successor. This device will allow users to make full use of all opportunities offered by the T-Mobile network," Jan Prokeš said.
The T-Mobile MDA II operates on the basis of the latest operating system, Microsoft Windows Mobile Media Phone Edition 2003. At first glance, it looks like a standard PDA, as no antenna suggests the features of a mobile phone (the device has an integrated antenna). The device has a high-quality camera allowing the creation of MMS or simply saving pictures and sending them by e-mail. Thanks to Bluetooth support, wireless connection with a number of accessories is possible. The device contains software such as Word, Excel, Outlook and other programmes known from desktop computers. Further applications can be installed additionally, similarly as on a standard PC.
T-Mobile WorldClass offers even better roaming rates
The T-Mobile WorldClass service, allowing calls to be made in selected networks in 25 European countries for just CZK 19/min, is now even more favourable, as the rate has dropped to CZK 15/min. This means that the rate per minute has been reduced by almost a quarter. T-Mobile has lowered the price within a special promotional campaign lasting from the beginning of December 2003 until the end of April 2004. "Thanks to T-Mobile WorldClass, our clients can be sure that their calls from abroad always cost the same amount. For example, they can celebrate this New Year's Eve abroad and call their family and friends back home for CZK 15/min, no matter which WorldClass partner network they are in," explained Jan Prokeš.
