Prague, 3 October 2002 â?" RadioMobil has introduced a new programme of cooperation with partners. The programme will provide commercial and technical support for third parties which develop and sell specialized applications and services intended for T-Mobile customers. Thus, the new programme is intended not only for developers but also for advertising and marketing companies.
â?śT-Mobile offers a number of services which may be used as a base for the development of further applications. Such services include, e.g., creating and operating new information channels, localization of mobiles, or automatic SMS or MMS sending. Java applications can also be installed directly into mobile phones. All this creates an extensive room for new solutions, which can be beneficial to our customers. One company, even with a great potentiality, could never cover all solutions. Effective and profitable cooperation with partners is a key factor of success, not only for T-Mobile but for every mobile operatorâ?ť, says Martin Klocperk, Telecom Relations and Strategy Director of RadioMobil.
Within the programme of partner cooperation, T-Mobile supports the development of mobile applications in several ways:
1. Offers its specialized services (so-called pre-products) and provides a comprehensive information and technological support for developers who want to use the pre-products
2. Via its programme of support of sale of mobile solutions, intended for owners of existing solutions. By participation in the programme, partners get marketing and sale support for their solutions
3. By a clearly defined process of communication, evaluation and cooperation with partners in the development of new interesting services or solutions
The new developers.t-mobile.cz website is intended for those who are interested in cooperation with T-Mobile. It will contain detailed information about all pre-products, software, and specification of services and interfaces for partners. Moreover, information about how to cooperate with T-Mobile and under what conditions can be found there. The contact form, where potential partners can specify their suggestions of cooperation, is also included. Every potential partner will be informed within 14 days about what to do next. Even if T-Mobile is not interested in the cooperation suggested, partners will be informed about that fact.
The certification of partners is an integral part of the programme of marketing and sale support. Partners whose solutions meet the functional, technical and qualitative requirements of the programme are given the â?śSolution partnerâ?ť certificate. The certificate expresses both the confidence of RadioMobil in the certified partners and the mutual relationship between the GSM operator and the solution providers. The certificate thus ensures that the solutions are among the best ones in the given field. The certificate is valid for one year and applies for a particular technological field. T-Mobile is prepared to offer the solutions of the certified partners with the T-Mobile network services to its customers. Thus, the partners can indirectly use the T-Mobile sale channels to offer their solutions.
Examples of partner solutions
SGS Vending â?" system for distant monitoring of vending machines
SGS, in cooperation with T-Mobile, allows the providers of vending machines to monitor the state of these machines. The solution is based on the automated transmission of information via SMS and GPRS. Information is displayed in real time on a PC. Thus, the controller knows which vending machines must be supplied with new goods, or which machines are out of order and need to be repaired. Therefore, this solution brings considerable cost savings in logistics and management of engineers.
SGS Industry â?" distant monitoring and management of industrial devices
The SGS Industry project is based on a principle similar to SGS Vending. Information from industrial devices is transmitted via communication units using GPRS to the control centre of customers. The devices can not only be monitored from the distance but also controlled by giving orders via terminals. The service can be widely used, e.g., for distance reading of values from measuring appliances. At the present moment, complete solutions for gas and energy industry, and for the segment of payment terminals and cash dispensers are available.
Dataware VIP Mobile Office
This solution enables a two-way communication between mobile users and the data warehouse. Thus, it can be used, e.g., in companies which are concerned with on-line surveys of public opinion and which need to follow the results. Interviewers use MDAâ??s (Mobile Digital Assistant) to record answers of respondents. The answers are transmitted via the T-Mobile network to the data warehouse where they are automatically evaluated. Such outputs are immediately available to customers. This solution will be presented during this yearâ??s INVEX fair.
