Bonn, December 18, 2006 - Following the personnel changes to the Management Board of the Deutsche Telekom AG, T-Mobile International is now realigning its top management. In the future, in close cooperation with the new CEO Hamid Akhavan, an Executive Committee will manage the company's day-to-day operations.
Support of T-Mobile International's current top management-Board members Thomas G. Winkler (Finance), Lothar Harings (Personnel) and Michael Günther (Joint Ventures)-will include the Managing Directors of national companies - Germany, UK, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland (PTC). In addition, Christopher Schläffer, formerly Corporate Development Officer of the Deutsche Telekom AG, will be responsible for the area Product & Innovation at T-Mobile International and-in a dual role-assume the position of Group Product and Innovation Officer of the Deutsche Telekom AG. Joachim Horn, formerly Director of Technology of T-Mobile Germany, will now be Chief Technology Officer in Europe for T-Mobile International.
Other members of the Executive Committee include Phil Chapman, who will assume the additional responsibility for European Brand and Marketing Communications of T-Mobile International, in addition to his current role as Marketing Director of T-Mobile UK. Another new member to the Executive Committee is Steffen Roehn, currently responsible for IT at T-Mobile Germany, and also responsible in the future for Group-wide IT management at T-Mobile.
It is planned that Günther Ottendorfer, currently responsible for technology at T-Mobile Austria, will take over responsibility for technology at T-Mobile Germany. In the interim, Steffen Roehn will serve in this capacity. In the future, the Sales and Service area of T-Mobile International, formerly headed by Timotheus Höttges, will report directly to CEO Hamid Akhavan.
Timotheus Höttges was appointed in early December as a member of the Board of Management of the Deutsche Telekom AG and is responsible for T-Com as well as Sales & Service for the company's German consumer business market (T-Mobile and T-Com). CEO Hamid Akhavan, also appointed to the Board of Management of the Deutsche Telekom AG as head of its mobile arm, will head the area of Product Development and Innovation within the Deutsche Telekom Group.
