Prague, 21 August 2007 - The successful applicants have been announced for the third annual TMobile Fund grant program. This year, more than CZK 6.1 million will flow from the fund into the non-profit sector. Apart from the financial support that T-Mobile has provided in the three regions where it has its offices, i.e. the Louny region, the Hradec Králové region and the city district of Prague 11, T-Mobile has also supported a number of projects submitted by non-profit organizations throughout the whole Czech Republic based on recommendations of T‑Mobile employees as part of the second annual T-Mobile Employee Fund grant program. Symbolic checks will be presented to the winners at ceremonies that will take place in Prague, Hradec Králové and Louny during the last week of August.
"Over the past three years, the T-Mobile Fund has gained a very good reputation in 'our' three regions - Hradec Králové, Louny and Prague 11," says Jitka Chocová, Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at T‑Mobile, adding: "And thanks to the enormous popularity of the T-Mobile Employee Fund, from which money can be awarded to any non-profit organization operating in the Czech Republic which T-Mobile employees recommend, we have broadened the scope of T-Mobile's charitable activities to the whole Czech Republic."
T‑Mobile Fund
From the T-Mobile Fund, more than CZK 4 million have been awarded to non-profit organizations through the Community Foundation of Euroregion Labe (for the Louny region) and the VIA Foundation (for the city district of Prague 11 and the Hradec Králové region). Out of the 244 applications that were submitted this year (up from 206 last year), 72 projects were selected for financial support.
Most applications for financial support were submitted in the Louny region: the evaluation committee made selections from among 119 applications from this region, distributing the total amount of CZK 1.7 million among 32 organizations. The Hradec Králové region will receive the amount of CZK 1.4 million for 26 projects selected from among 88 proposals. And out of the 37 applicants of the city district of Prague 11, fourteen will receive the total amount of CZK 1,030,000.
The third annual T-Mobile Fund grant program was available to non-governmental non-profit organizations, local authorities and contributory organizations which aim to promote improvements in the social and cultural sphere and the environment or to pursue activities resulting in alternative offers of social services.
The maximum financial support that a single project could receive was set at CZK 100,000. Also, a given project would have to be implemented within a one-year period from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008 to be eligible for a grant.
