Prague, 27 October 2005 - The results of the T-Mobile Fund grant programme have become known. Members of the evaluation committees carefully studied the applications for the grant programme which met with great interest. The evaluation committee has selected 46 winning projects from among 166 grant applications. Applicants from Prague 11 and the Hradec Králové and Louny districts will soon receive cheques in the total value of nearly CZK 2.5 million. The official awarding of funds will take place in the T-Mobile buildings in Hradec Králové, Louny and Prague.
"We are really pleased about the large number of people who found our programme interesting. We believe that the next round of this programme which is planned for 2006 will also meet with great interest," says Jitka Chocová, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at T-Mobile.
The evaluation committee for City District Prague 11 has decided that a total of 16 projects out of 30 grant applications submitted will receive financial support. The VIA foundation, which administers the T-Mobile Fund for Prague 11, will thus distribute CZK 765,000 among the winning organizations and associations.
Financial support will be granted particularly to projects which are focused on sports and leisure-time activities for children and young people, projects for integration of disabled children in pre-school facilities and projects focused on assistance services for vision-impaired persons.
The winning projects include the Daily Activities Center - People for People project submitted by the ESET-HELP association, which focuses on educational activities for people with chronic mental disorders, as well as projects for the construction or renovation of several children's playgrounds in the Jižní Město area, and projects focusing on work therapy for disabled people living in Prague 11.
The T-Mobile Fund was announced for the first time this year, as a new initiative of T-Mobile for three regions where this No. 1 Czech mobile operator has its offices: Prague 11, and the Hradec Králové and Louny districts. For this year, T-Mobile donated almost CZK 2.5 million to the Fund. This amount has been distributed among recipients by the Community Foundation of the Euroregion Labe in the Louny district and by the VIA Foundation in City District Prague 11 and the Hradec Králové district. The maximum amount of each grant is CZK 80,000 for one project which has to be implemented during the period from November 2005 to August 2006.
