Prague, 23 June 2009 - A record number of applications have been filed within the T-Mobile Fund grant program this year. A total of 434 projects applied for financial support, which is the largest number of applications submitted in the 5-year history of the Fund. The evaluation committees proposed and the foundations' boards of trustees approved financial support for 125 successful projects, which will together receive a total of CZK 8 million. Despite the current financial crisis, T-Mobile provided to the non-profit organizations the same amount as last year. Apart from the Louny district, the Hradec Králové region and the city district of Prague 11, where T-Mobile has its offices, T-Mobile will also support a number of projects submitted by non-profit organizations throughout the Czech Republic based on recommendations of T‑Mobile employees. Symbolic checks will be presented to the winners at ceremonies that will take place from 23 June 2009 to 25 June 2009.
"We are pleased to see that the number of grant applications is rising each year. But what is even more important is that even at the time of global financial crisis, when many companies are reducing their contributions to the NGO sector, the T-Mobile Fund distributed the same financial amount among successful projects as last year," says Jitka Chocová, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at T-Mobile.
