Prague, 17 August 2006 - Funds from the T-Mobile Fund have already been granted. This year, T-Mobile significantly increased the amount of money intended for the non-profit sector. While last year approximately CZK 2.5 million was awarded within the grant programme, this year the operator has earmarked for the Fund more than CZK 7.5 million. In addition to grants intended for the regions where T-Mobile operates, i.e. the Hradec Králové and Louny regions and Prague 11, this year T-Mobile employees could recommend any non-profit organization whose activities they like or, as the case may be, for which they work. Based on their recommendation, the relevant organizations could send grant applications for their projects within the grant programme. Symbolic cheques will be presented to the representatives of the winning organizations at an official ceremony which will take place in the T-Mobile buildings in Prague 11, Louny and Hradec Králové from 17 to 23 August.
"In comparison with last year, the number of grant applications has significantly increased and we are therefore pleased to be able to provide even more money for good causes," says Jitka Chocová, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of T-Mobile, adding: "We are also particularly pleased that the T-Mobile Fund for employees met with great interest. Our employees recommended 166 non-profit organizations."
This year, a total of CZK 5.4 million will be distributed by the VIA foundation, which administers the T-Mobile Fund for Prague 11 and Hradec Králové, and by the Community Foundation of the Euroregion Labe, which administers the Fund for the Louny region. It was decided that out of 206 submitted applications, 71 winning projects will receive financial support for their implementation. The total amount granted is CZK 3 million higher than that of last year.
A total of CZK 1,447,775 will be distributed to non-profit organizations in Prague 11. Out of 31 filed applications, 17 projects were selected.
Non-profit organizations in the Louny region filed 93 grant applications, out of which 28 winning projects will receive CZK 1,997,430.
Successful applicants from the Hradec Králové region will be granted a total of CZK 1,965,000. The evaluation committee for this region decided that 26 projects out of 82 grant applications submitted will receive financial support.
The VIA Foundation, which administers the T-Mobile Fund for Prague 11, will thus distribute CZK 765,000 among the winning organizations and associations.
The amount of CZK 3 million will be distributed by the Community Foundation of the Euroregion Labe in the Louny district and by the VIA Foundation in the other two districts.
The evaluation committee for City District Prague 11 has decided that a total of 16 projects out of 30 grant applications submitted will receive financial support.
