Prague, 26 March 2008 - After the January Jänner Rallye, all racing fans can look forward to the Championship of the Czech Republic in car racing, which will be held at the end of March. All race cars will be newly equipped with the ONI monitoring system that allows monitoring of the location and condition of vehicles during the entire race. This system is supplied by NAM system, a.s., and is provided in cooperation with T‑Mobile. The next event in which the system will be put into operation will be the Valašská Rallye on 28 and 29 March.
The ONI monitoring system from NAM system, a.s. has for the first time been introduced this year by Autoklub ČR as mandatory equipment particularly for the purpose of increasing the safety of all participants in the race events. The system units placed in race cars enable identification and reporting of any unplanned stop or accident during speed trials, including the localization of each car.
At the same time, it is possible to archive the records on the movements and condition of race cars during individual rally events. The equipment is owned by Autoklub ČR and is lent to participants for individual rally events free of charge. The system uses solely data transmissions via GPRS/EDGE and Internet 4G from T‑Mobile.
"Our company has operated the ONI system since 2006. Development was started in 2003. The principal idea of the ONI project is to provide users with services of monitoring and surveillance of mobile objects. In addition to the standard on-line applications for the monitoring of movements and condition of vehicles (including electronic trip records), the ONI system enables the operation of special applications for highly demanding event management," says Alan Fabik, Sales Director of NAM system, adding: "One such application is the system of guarding vehicles that integrates the central stations of 47 security agencies and enables quick and effective responses to attacks on vehicles throughout the Czech Republic. Our success in the tender proceedings held by Autoklub ČR clearly confirms the versatility of this system."
NAM system, a.s. offers the ONI monitoring system in cooperation with T-Mobile within the Partner Program. The Partner Program associates companies that develop or provide services to end-users. This program was established particularly for the purpose of supporting the partner companies in obtaining new business opportunities involving the provision of individual services.
"With our partner companies, we constantly strive to find new possibilities for using their solutions and thus to flexibly react to the market needs. Using the monitoring system in car races only confirms validity of this approach," says Jan Roule, Vice President Partnership and Wholesale at T-Mobile.
The ONI system will be used not only in the Championship of the Czech Republic, which includes famous car races such as the Barum Rallye and Rallye Bohemia, but also in the Sprintrally races and historic-car races.
