RadioMobil has received confirmation that it has fulfilled the licence conditions

The Paegas GSM network has once again fulfilled the exacting requirements of the Czech Telecommunications Office (ÄŚTÚ) concerning the quality of its network and services without any problems whatsoever. As the operator of the Paegas GSM network, RadioMobil a.s. regularly has to submit details to the ÄŚTÚ concerning compliance with the "Authorisation to establish and operate a GSM public telecommunications network". "We are planning further expansion of the network and services, using the most modern technology available and meeting the highest quality standards prevalent in Europe. We are very pleased that the Executive Director of ÄŚTÚ has confirmed once again that the qualitative parameters of our GSM network fulfil the most demanding criteria," remarked Klaus Tebbe, Managing Director of RadioMobil a.s. In the course of June and July, another significant increase was achieved in the number of base stations in the framework of the process known as Network Definition: in Prague alone, 30 stations were brought into operation, while in the whole of the Czech Republic a total of 99 were switched on. RadioMobil is now aiming, in particular, to increase the number of transmitters in towns, in order to improve still further the signal quality indoors. RadioMobil a.s is not only working on further improving the quality of coverage of the GSM Paegas network, but is also preparing more services and an expansion in the number of roaming partners. Paegas customers can now travel almost all over the world and make use of the advantages of mobile communications. RadioMobil has already concluded 139 roaming agreements with operators in 69 countries on all five inhabited continents, and is conducting negotiations with further operators. RadioMobil is the only operator in the Czech Republic to offers its clients the use of GSM services in, for instance, China, via the use of roaming. In Paegas outlets, customers can also purchase or rent satellite telephones of two different systems: Iridium and Inmarsat, thanks to which they can make calls from practically anywhere on the globe. RadioMobil a.s. is the operator of the GSM network called Paegas. The companys largest shareholders are ÄŚeské Radiokomunikace a.s., which has a 51% stake, and the international consortium CMobil, with a 49% stake. CMobil currently comprises: the biggest global operator of mobile communications T-Mobil, Italian operator TIM, PVT, TMP and SKS. The Paegas GSM network now covers more than 97% of the Czech Republic. Customers can take their Paegas GSM mobile telephones to 69 different countries around the world and use roaming services via 139 operators. As of July 1999, there are more than 555,000 customers of the Paegas GSM network.
