Prague, 4 August 2001 â?" After several months of negotiations, RadioMobil has not succeeded in reaching an agreement with ÄŚeský Telecom on mobile-termination interconnection fees.
RadioMobil finally refused the non-realistic price requirements of ÄŚeský Telecom. ÄŚeský Telecom proposed a price lower than half the average European price for mobile termination. At the same time, the current price for termination in ÄŚeský Telecomâ??s fixed network is several tens per cent above the European benchmark.
In accordance with the standard procedure, RadioMobil on Friday 3 August 2001 contacted the national regulatory authority, the Czech Telecommunications Office (ÄŚTÚ), and asked for a decision on mobile-termination interconnection fees.
â?žWe believe that after studying all the materials the regulatory authority will make such a decision that will confirm that our price requirements are justified. We are of course prepared to prove to the regulatory experts that our proposals are fully in line not only with the European benchmarks but also with cost calculations as required by the Telecommunications Act,â?ś said Martin Klocperk, RadioMobilâ??s Telecoms Relations and Strategy Director.
