Together with Alef NULA, T-Mobile has completely rebuilt the data centre of the largest Czech producer of agricultural machines, Agrostroj Pelhřimov, which also manufactures and delivers components for agricultural machines to large foreign partners and is the largest universal contract manufacturer in Europe. The new data centre is based on the Cisco HyperFlex solution. Agrostroj Pelhřimov is one of the first companies in Europe to have deployed this system.
“We had to choose whether to expand and complement the data centre gradually so that it can meet the increased demands, or to radically rebuild it and select a technology that will enable us to grow further. We decided to build our private cloud based on the Cisco HyperFlex solution, which, in addition to a significant reduction of costs, helps us respond to customers’ requests much faster and concentrate on our strategic development and not on maintenance of the existing data centre,” says Jindřich Šustr, IT Manager at Agrostroj Pelhřimov.
“Agrostroj Pelhřimov chose a solution that helped it reduce the number of physical servers from twenty-five to three and decrease the number of administrators from three to one. Above all, however, the company can now easily expand capacity and better allocate resources while still achieving a high level of availability and security, all centrally administered and scalable,” says Richard Novák, Customer Solutions ICT Director at T-Mobile, commenting on Agrostroj’s choice.
“Business as conducted by today’s companies puts emphasis on flexibility and IT departments must adapt quickly to the ever changing needs of business. Putting new systems into operation should be done within hours, as delays of several days or weeks bring about a loss for a company. The deployment of the HyperFlex technology meets Agrostroj’s needs in this respect,“ says Michal Stachník, CEO of Cisco Czech Republic, adding: “The HyperFlex systems decrease the costs of ownership by 30% and deliver an up to 40% higher performance as compared with rival solutions, which enables extension of hyperconvergence to a wider range of business workloads.”
Cisco HyperFlex is a complete hyperconverged system based on the Cisco UCS technology. It combines software-defined networking and computing with a new generation of the Cisco HX Data Platform. It enables very fast performance clustering and dynamic data distribution, while ensuring high availability and enabling savings of up to 80% of data storage capacities. HyperFlex changes personnel requirements and reduces the energy intensity of operating data centres. Agrostroj’s entire data centre is now composed of only three NODs (equivalent of a 1U-2U rack server) built on the Cisco UCS technology and provides support to more than 700 terminal stations and an additional 20 systems (operations, production and administration).
