â?ťPaegas Twist services are selected by people who wish to make full use of the advantages of digital mobile communication but, at the same time, wish to have perfect control over the amount of money spent on calling, When you look at the price list, itâ??s clear that Twist is the cheapest prepaid service on the Czech market,â?ť says Roman Chvátal, RadioMobilâ??s marketing director.

Using the Paegas Twist prepaid services is significantly cheaper, for many users, even than using a fixed-line telephone. A range of services which are not offered by the fixed-line network or offered for additional charges are part of this service offer. Installation fees for the Paegas Twist service are also comparable with those for a fixed-line telephone. A set with a telephone and initial credit of CZK 400 may be purchased at a price of CZK 4,499, while just the installation of a fixed line costs CZK 3,500. In addition, the user has to purchase a phone and he/she binds him/herself to pay a monthly fee amounting to CZK 175. In the course of one year, the Paegas Twist service user may save as much as one thousand crowns, then CZK 1,700 each subsequent year.

â?ťEarlier, people said that the number of fixed-line telephones would reach its top limit when it became equal to the number of households. For mobile telephones, this top limit should be equal to the number of inhabitants, but there are already voices claiming that this number wonâ??t stop the growth either. The number of mobile telephones is still growing rapidly and the time when each person will have a minimum of one mobile telephone number (as is close to being the case in Finland, for example, where seven out of ten people have a mobile phone) isnâ??t far away,â?ť Chvátal added.

Paegas Twist was the first prepaid service on the Czech market and it offers the widest scope of services. Apart from a regular voice connection, it also offers the Paegas Internet Call, the transmission of short text messages (SMS) and other SMSâ?"based services, the possibility to pay for soft drinks with a mobile phone, incoming roaming, telephone number retrieval, and interpreting services within the Paegas Asistent 333 service. All newly-installed Paegas Twist SIM cards are supplied with the Paegas SIM Toolkit application, which significantly simplifies the use of Paegas Info and Paegas Info Plus services.

The potential client may select from a wide range of prepaid sets. There are 11 of these on the market at the moment, ranging from CZK 4,499 to CZK 9,999. If the user already owns a mobile phone, he/she may purchase a separate Paegas Twist SIM card for CZK 1,999 with initial credit. â?ťWe always list the prices for Paegas Twist prepaid services including VAT because individuals are the main customers and these people may not deduct VAT. But Paegas Twist is also attractive to major companies, which may purchase these services for their employees and thus give them the opportunity for easy communication while simultaneously regulating the costs completely,â?ť Chvátal stated.

Last but not least, marketing support, apart from its advantageous prices and innovative services, has contributed to the success of Paegas Twist services. â?ťWe succeeded in creating a â??Twist-styleâ?? phenomenon on the Czech market and, apart from constant growth in the numbers of our clients, the fact that our successful strategy has been copied by other operators lately proves our success,â?ť added Chvátal.

RadioMobil, a joint-stock company, operates the GSM Paegas network. The GSM Paegas network currently covers more than 99% of the Czech population. Customers may use GSM Paegas mobile telephones in the networks of 168 operators from almost 80 countries worldwide. By the end of 1999, more than 875,000 customers had used the services of the GSM Paegas network into which RadioMobil had invested CZK 6 billion in the course of the year, which is one billion more than the other operator.

By being the first in the history of the Czech mobile market to acquire more than 500,000 new customers in one year, Paegas has become the leading operator on the Czech market in the number of new activations.
