Paegas services collect more awards

  • Paegas SIM Toolkit banking services beat out all other E-commerce applications
  • Paegas Info Profil reigns among Internet services

Two Paegas Services garnered Product/Service of the Year awards at the Prague Internet World 1999 trade fair. In the E-commerce Service Applications category, Paegas SIM Toolkit, banking services which allow account administration at Expandia Banka via mobile phones which support the SIM Toolkit standard, came away a winner, while Paegas Info Profil, which gives users access to information on Web pages â?? and even allows them to modify it in some cases â?? was the top finisher in the Internet Services category.

â?śWe were again able to show the entire world that a Czech company can offer cutting-edge services in a field that is itself among the most technologically advanced. And weâ??re doubly pleased because our customers, for whom we create these services, use them frequently and with pleasure,â?ť said RadioMobil CEO Klaus Tebbe.

â?śThe jury at the Prague Internet World fair chose two RadioMobil services which played a large role in the companyâ??s success at Cannes at the end of February. There the Paegas network was recognized as belonging to the most innovative operator in the world, and this is further confirmation that RadioMobil is the foremost GSM operator in the world and on the Czech market,â?ť added RadioMobil press spokeswoman Tereza Kakosová.

RadioMobil has garnered numerous awards, including recently being named the most respected telecommunications company in the Czech Republic as part of the Czech Top 100 survey. Out of hundreds of Czech companies, RadioMobil finished eighth overall and the highest of any company in the telecommunications sector. Its Paegas Internet Call service, which it was forced to shut down on the basis of an administrative order from the Czech Telecommunications Bureau but which had attracted many customers looking for alternatives to overseas phone calls, won several important awards as the first application in the world to enable mobile communications via the Internet.

RadioMobil, a.s. is the operator of the GSM network called Paegas. Its largest shareholders are ÄŚeské radiokomunikace a.s., with 51 percent, and the international consortium CMobil, which holds a 49 percent stake.
