Paegas Offers the Safest Internet Payments in the World

  • Paegas GSM Banking is the fastest, simplest and the safest way to manage a bank account from anywhere and anytime
  • Users of the prepaid Paegas Twist can also take advantage of the comfortable bank account management via mobile

One of the safest ways of paying on the internet is offered by Paegas - using the GSM Banking service. At the moment a faster and equally safe way of payment for goods ordered on the internet does not exist in the world. It can now be used in the largest Czech internet shops. At the same time there are more and more shops that support internet payments via GSM Banking. "The customer chooses the goods comfortably on the internet and he/she selects the GSM Banking option when paying. The payment then proceeds through a completely independent channel, and it is therefore the safest and also fastest way of internet payment. You only enter the necessary data in your phone and then wait for your delivery," the spokeswoman of RadioMobil Tereza Kakosová said, and added: "Millions of people can use GSM Banking services - all those, who have their account in one of the cooperating banks, among which there are the largest Czech financial institutions, and their number increases."

As one of the first GSM operators in the world, RadioMobil first introduced the GSM Banking service at the Fibex trade-fair in Brno in May 1998 together with Expandia Banka. Last year it came up with an innovation, introducing multibanking SIM cards together with the SIM card supplier - Giesecke & Devriant. A customer with a multibanking SIM card visits his/her bank, where they record an application allowing account transactions. "Originally we thought of GSM Banking as of a service that could make up for a visit of a bank. Paegas has now introduced also another way of its practical use - the payment of goods ordered via the internet," Tereza Kakosová explains. Among internet shops that use GSM Banking there are for example Vltava (www.vltava.cz), Kosmas (www.kosmas.cz), Shop (www.shop.cz) or Obchodní dĹŻm (www.obchodni-dum.cz).

The GSM Banking services are now offered by Expandia Banka, IPB, Poštovní spoĹ?itelna (a division of IPB) and in near future also ÄŚSOB. If someone wants to use GSM Banking, he/she needs a phone that supports the service (today these are practically all the phones sold), and a Banking SIM card, which is in the CR offered only by the Paegas network operator. Existing customers can change their SIM card for a Banking one for a 400 crown charge. Owners of the prepaid Paegas Twist cards can also do that. New users, who want to buy a Banking SIM card straight away, will pay CZK 200 more for it. "Using the GSM Banking service is easier, faster and more comfortable than filling in paper forms directly in the bank and at least equally safe at the same time. In addition to that, the user can use them anywhere in the world," Tereza Kakosová added. Nowadays there are almost 600 000 phones that support GSM Banking among all Paegas users. These are practically all the new phones coming to the market. So far, about 60 000 customers have requested for a banking SIM card. At the moment four banks support the service and more will follow.
