Paegas offers lowest prices on telecommunications services
â?śThe services of the best GSM operator in the world really are accessible to everyone today, and at a very affordable price,â?ť said RadioMobil spokeswoman Tereza Kakosová of the extended validity date. Paegas Twist customers can also send text messages and take advantage of Paegas Info, Paegas E-mail and Paegas SIM Toolkit, services which are the reason why RadioMobil was named the best GSM operator in the world in terms of technology. With Paegas Twist, credits appear directly on the phoneâ??s display, allowing customers full control over their calls.
Paegas GSM users can take advantage of the most modern services offered by the digital standard, which has outpaced old analog systems like NMT and continues to spawn new services at an astounding rate. Some operators have even been forced to shut down their analog networks in the face of customer demand for the GSM digital standard, which offers quicker data transmission and higher quality voice transmission than the NMT standard, as well as roaming, greater capacity, short text messages and added-value services (such as information services and SIM Toolkit). NMT users are also severely limited in their selection of phones, which are heavier and have significantly shorter battery lives than GSM telephones.
Todayâ??s digital systems are undergoing a gradual transformation into a â?śthird generationâ?ť of mobile communication, and many of the services RadioMobil offers today, which earned it recognition in Cannes as the most innovative GSM operator in the world, are considered part of â?śGeneration 2.5.â?ť
Customers can currently choose from among four different Paegas Twist sets. The Motorola d520 set, which supports SIM Toolkit, is available for 4,999 KÄŤ (including VAT), while the Alcatel One Touch Club set and the Nokia 5110 set, both of which are already Twist members, are available for 5,999 KÄŤ and 8,999 crowns, respectively. A new addition to the Twist program is the Siemens C25 with SIM Toolkit support, for 7,499 KÄŤ.
RadioMobil, a.s. is the operator of the GSM network called Paegas. Its largest shareholders are ÄŚeské radiokomunikace a.s., with 51 percent, and the international consortium CMobil, which holds a 49 percent stake. CMobil comprises the German operator T-Mobil (Deutsche Telekom), Italyâ??s TIM, and PVT, TelekomunikaÄŤní montá?e Praha and SpoĹ?itelní kapitálová spoleÄŤnost.
The Paegas GSM network today provides
coverage to 96 percent of the Czech population. Customers can take their Paegas GSM mobile
telephones to 64 countries around the world and utilize the roaming services of 119
operators. More than 440,000 customers used Paegas GSM services in March, 1999.
