Paegas Customers Can Top Up Twist Cards by SMS

Prague, 4 March 2002 - RadioMobil is the only Czech operator to offer customers the possibility of direct Twist card top-up by SMS. Following a pilot project at selected ATMs in Prague, all Paegas customers can now register the new Twist SMS top-up service at more than 200 Komercni banka ATMs throughout the Czech Republic. Via SMS, users can top up their own or someone else's Twist cards. Twist cards can be topped up from anywhere, including abroad.

"Our new service is another way to make the top-up of prepaid cards even more convenient and quicker for our customers. They no more need to buy a top-up coupon or look for an ATM every time they want to top up their credit. All they need to do is to register once at an ATM and then they can top up their credit by SMS from anywhere," says Jiri Hajek, RadioMobil spokesman.

Twist SMS top-up is designed for all Paegas customers who are holders of Komercni banka credit or debit cards. To be able to use the service, the customer just needs to register once at a KB ATM. Just a single SMS is then needed for each top-up. The registration process is as follows: The customer selects "SMS top-up" and "Registration" in the ATM menu. Then he/she inserts the phone number (without the first zero) that will be registered for his/her credit or debit card and from which the customer will be able to top up his/her credit. After a successful registration, the ATM will issue a receipt including a DPIN code. No ATM is needed for the actual top-up - the credit can be topped up directly by SMS.

With the Twist SMS top-up service, the customer can top up his/her own telephone which has been registered for the credit or debit card, or someone else's phone. To top up one's own Twist card, an SMS in the format DOBIT_<DPIN>_<AMOUNT> should be sent to 5602. To top up someone else's Twist card, the phone number to  be topped up has to be added: DOBIT_<DPIN>_<AMOUNT>_<PHONE NUMBER>. The customer will receive a SMS confirming a successful top-up.

Via SMS, amounts from CZK 400 to 4,000 can be topped up. The maximum weekly limit is CZK 10,000 for one credit or debit card and CZK 4,000 for one phone number. Similarly to the other coupon-free top-up methods, the customer will receive 10% of the topped-up amount as a bonus.
In addition to this brand-new service, customers can choose from a wide range of methods for direct Twist card top-up. They can use one of the KB and CSOB ATMs to top up their credit with an amount from CZK 200 to 4,000, without having to use a coupon. Another possibility is a direct top-up via CCS terminals at selected petrol stations throughout the Czech Republic. GE Capital Bank account owners can top up their Twist cards via GSM Banking. The traditional coupon top-up is of course still available.
