Paegas Comes With A World Unique Service For Foreign Customers

  • When first connecting to the Paegas GSM network foreigners receive an SMS with important numbers for free
  • Only Paegas offers interpreting in many languages and assistant services
  • Foreign visitors of the CR can use the Paegas Asistent service for interpreting from their mother tongue as well

As soon as an owner of a roaming agreement partner´s SIM card connects to the Paegas network, he or she receives a welcome text message with the most important phone numbers. The messages are in three languages, depending on where the visitor comes from: Germans and Austrians are welcome in German, Slovaks in Slovak and others in English. "The Czech Republic is a destination of many people´s journeys and a significant part of them do not travel without their mobile phone anymore. Since we are trying to provide high quality services to all our customers and other users, we prepared a novelty, which will make using our GSM services easier for foreigners during their stay in the CR," the gazetteer of the RadioMobil Company Tereza Kakosová said, and added: "In today´s world of telecommunications we consider the area of customer services as one of the most important. We are the only operator in the CR that not only talks about this fact, but for which speaks the range of its services, that is unique on the Czech market."

First of all, foreign users of services need to know a phone number, where they can find out all the necessary information about services that the operator offers and about their prices for free (number 4604). No less important is the possibility to find out various phone numbers, which is ensured by Paegas Asistent 333. Operators of the info line have several phone number databases including the directory of the fixed operator available. Furthermore, they have more special databases at their disposal, and they can therefore help with a more general inquiry. "An advice in searching a restaurant can help not only to foreigners, because we cooperate with the creators of the publication Gurmán. It will do to tell the operators of the Paegas Asistent line the type of cuisine, in which the calling party is interested, and the operator can offer retrieved restaurants and recommend the best according to food or for example ambience," Tereza Kakosová specified. The operator can put you through to the retrieved number and send the number in the form of SMS at the same time, so that the calling party does not have to write it down.

Apart from retrieval of phone numbers and connecting the calling party with the requested phone number, Paegas Asistent also offers interpreting in many languages. Mediation of interpreting in basic languages is a matter of a few minutes, but after consultation with the operator interpreting in some less usual language can be arranged. The customers of RadioMobil use the interpreting services both in the CR when they need to talk with a foreigner whose language they don´t know, and on their journeys abroad. Another large group of users are foreigners, who use the Paegas GSM network in the CR. "Nobody else in the CR offers interpreting services via phone, and the only way to get them is to have a Paegas phone. Foreign visitors can then select our network when roaming, and so use all the advantages we bring them, including the Paegas Asistent service," Tereza Kakosová added.

RadioMobil Incorporated is the operator of the GSM network called Paegas, which today covers over 99 % of the Czech population and 99.8 % of first-class roads. Customers can use a Paegas GSM mobile phone in networks of 170 operators from almost 80 countries of the whole world. In the half of March 2000, more than 1 000 000 customers used the services of the Paegas GSM network, into which RadioMobil invested 6 billion crowns only during 1999, a billion more than the other operator. Paegas hence became the leading operator on the Czech market by the number of new activations, when it acquired more than 500 000 new customers in 1999 as the first in history of the Czech mobile market and it acquired more over 125 000 new clients during the first weeks of 2000.
