Prague, 25 June 2010 - Effective 1 July 2010, T-Mobile is offering new, lower rates for incoming and outgoing calls and text messages in 26 EU member states and three European Economic Area (EEA) countries. Beginning in July, T-Mobile is also introducing data roaming limits that will help users to keep their bills for using the internet abroad (particularly in the EU) under control.
For outgoing calls in the EU and EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), T-Mobile customers will pay CZK 11.93/min. incl. VAT. Incoming calls will be charged at CZK 4.58/min. incl. VAT. European regulation will also affect the price of text messages, which will cost CZK 3.36 incl. VAT per message effective from 1 July. These prices apply to contract customers with the activated EU add-on and to all Twist card users. Other services (MMS, data transfers) are charged according to the standard price list.
The European Union has newly imposed a duty to introduce a data roaming limit aimed at protecting customers against unexpectedly high bills for mobile internet use abroad. T-Mobile has already been offering this service to all customers free of charge since March this year. Beginning 1 July, however, the limit of CZK 1,500 incl. VAT will be obligatorily set up for all users browsing the web in the EU and EEA countries.
When using up 80% of the limit, customers will receive a notification text message. When reaching 100% of the limit, data services will cease to be available. In such a case, users can easily restore access to data services by sending a text message or calling the T-Mobile Customer Centre. Those customers who believe that the basic limit will not be sufficient can set up higher variants: CZK 4,680 and CZK 18,000 incl. VAT.
For contract customers, limits will be set up for one billing period; for Twist card users, for one calendar month.
