Prague, 25 January 2007 - T-Mobile made a very pleasant change in prices for MMS. As of 1 February, MMS will be significantly cheaper both for contract and Twist customers. During the promotion, which will run until 30 September 2007, MMS users can save up to 40 percent off the previous price, or 31 percent if they use Twist pre-paid cards. The MMS price reduction is relevant for roughly half of all TMobile customers, as about 2.5 million customers have an MMS-enabled mobile phone.
From the beginning of February, contract customers will pay CZK 5 excl. VAT (CZK 5.95 incl. VAT) for each MMS. The current price is CZK 8.20 excl. VAT (CZK 9.76 incl. VAT). These customers will thus save almost 40 percent. Sending video and audio messages will also be cheaper for Twist users. Instead of the usual CZK 10 incl. VAT, one MMS will now cost only CZK 6.90 incl. VAT.
MMS package now even cheaper
Customers using the MMS10+ package will also save money when sending video and audio messages. Previously, the package monthly included 10 MMS for the price of CZK 49 excl. VAT (CZK 58.31 incl. VAT). As of 1 February, the name of the package will change to MMS15+, reflecting the new number of MMS provided in the package. The only thing that will remain the same is the price: CZK 49 excl. VAT. For example, an MMS birthday wish will thus cost CZK 3.27 excl. VAT (CZK 3.89 incl. VAT). The new, enhanced package will be available from 1 February. More informatin at www.t-mobile.cz.
The new prices apply to all MMS sent from the T-Mobile network in the Czech Republic to any network and to any e-mail address.
The segment of mobile customers who own an MMS-enabled handset is constantly growing, experiencing a twofold increase over the past year. This is mainly due to the fact that MMS is now a standard feature of even the cheapest types of mobile phones. An average MMS user sends about three or four multimedia messages per month.
T-Mobile customers have the additional advantage that all phones bought at T-Mobile Shops or at dealers are configured for using MMS: It is not necessary to activate the service; they can simply take a photo and send it. Those who buy their phones outside the T-Mobile retail chain can very easily set them up using a configuration application available at www.konfigurator.cz. It is only necessary to select the type of phone; all required settings are then sent directly to the phone.
If those receiving MMS do not have an MMS-enabled mobile phone, they will not lose the chance to see the message: It can be downloaded from www.t-zones.cz. All that is needed is to enter the code which they receive in an SMS informing them of the MMS delivery.
