Praha, Bratislava, December 22, 2015 – Milan Vasina, current CEO of T-Mobile Czech Republic becomes also CEO of Slovak Telekom as of 1. 1. 2016. Miroslav Majoroš, current chairman and CEO of Slovak Telekom is leaving the position of CEO on 31. 12. 2015 to take over the management of Telekom Romania. Miroslav Majoroš, one of the longest-serving directors in the history of Slovak Telekom, will keep the position of chairman of the Board of ST.
Milan Vasina (46), who has headed the Czech T-Mobile since 2011, has the great experience with the Slovak telecommunications market. He worked in the Slovak Republic in the years 2002 - 2010, first as Marketing Director of the mobile operator EuroTel and since March 2007 as Managing Director of T-Mobile Slovensko. Between 2009 and 2010, he participated in the integration of Slovak Telekom and T-Mobile Slovensko.
"I do appreciate the confidence of shareholders appointing me in the key position, and thank Miroslav Majoros, who from Slovak Telekom has built the self-confident leading company in Slovak ICT market," says Milan Vasina, adding: "Managing both companies will be challenging, but I am convinced together we will contribute to strengthening the position of Deutsche Telekom's in Central Europe. "
Milan Vasina will hold the position of CEO of both companies. The aim of this step is - among other things – to fully utilize the potential of the cultural and linguistic closeness of both countries.
