MAGENTA TV Introduces Enhanced Video Library, Offers Exclusive BBC Player and DVTV Interviews

Digital and satellite MAGENTA TV from T-Mobile is launching a new Video Library, featuring a significantly expanded content selection and several upgrades. The new Video Library will include exclusive content, such as the BBC Player service and DVTV interviews, and is set to launch on November 4. It is included with the new MAGENTA TV Plus plans.

 

Currently, MAGENTA TV has 280,000 users accessing content via digital broadcasts or satellite. Households watch MAGENTA TV for an average of six hours daily, with viewers consistently using the replay and recording features, which account for about a quarter of all viewing.

 

A Wide Content Range for the Entire Family

With more than 5,000 titles, the MAGENTA TV Video Library is the largest video-on-demand (VOD) service in the Czech Republic. As a family-oriented platform, it spans a broad genre range, including Czech and international movies and series, children’s fairy tales, documentaries, theater performances, concerts, and even fitness workouts.

 

Selected content from the new Video Library will be available as "MAGENTA Cinema," directly accessible through the MAGENTA TV program guide on EPG position number 20. MAGENTA Cinema will feature popular movies like Jan Žižka, The Bethlehem Light, Kolya, and many more.

 

BBC and Czech Digital Content Creators

MAGENTA TV has become the home of BBC content in the Czech Republic. Following the exclusive launch of localized BBC Earth and the introduction of BBC First content, MAGENTA TV will now offer a VOD selection under the BBC Player brand in exclusive collaboration. Viewers can look forward to more than 1,000 titles, including series like Luther, The Office, Top Gear, and documentaries such as Putin vs the West.

 

MAGENTA TV also continues its long-term exclusive collaboration with DVTV. The DVTV EXTRA channel will expand to include exclusive content available directly in the new Video Library. In addition to interviews with Daniela Drtinová and Martin Veselovský, new shows will be available, such as At the Round Table, Standa Show, Kubrt Auto, Mr. Baldy, History Delights, and True Crime.

 

“We launched the DVTV EXTRA channel as pioneers, and we’re delighted to see our collaboration grow intensely. All new DVTV interviews will be available in our Video Library within 14 days of their premiere, and there are already over 600 shows available,” says Zdeněk Spurný, Manager of TV and Partner Development at T-Mobile.

 

The new Video Library is included in the price of MAGENTA TV Plus plans, to which customers will be migrated on November 4, 2024. Activation of the Video Library and Premium Video Library packages, included in the plan, will be gradual. Customers can also activate the service independently in the My T-Mobile app.
