  • Revolution in TV broadcasting: TV in your pocket
  • t-music  videozona - mobile music free of charge
  • Internet 4G - the first Czech UMTS

Prague, 24 October 2005 - T-Mobile has prepared a number of attractive innovations for visitors to the Invex trade fair that takes place annually in Brno, particularly in the area of mobile entertainment and data transmission. Those who visit the T-Mobile pavilion will be able to get familiar with a brand-new service called Internet 4G that represents a mobile alternative to ADSL. Mobile television broadcasting - "TV in your pocket" - via DVB-H technology will also be presented at the trade fair for the first time in the Czech Republic. Music lovers - and others - will also certainly appreciate another innovation that T-Mobile will present at the trade fair - audio and video streaming. Using a new application, t-music videozona, customers can play dozens of music tracks in the form of video or audio recordings free of charge.

Internet 4G
By being the first in the Czech Republic to launch a UMTS network, T-Mobile has significantly expanded its range of data services. Thanks to UMTS TDD technology from IP Wireless, the UMTS service, called Internet 4G, allows the use of applications that require a high access speed and low latency, such as video conferences, music and TV streaming, and on-line games.

With its parameters, Internet 4G is fully comparable to ADSL access via the fixed-line network, reaching a downlink speed of up to 1024kb/s and uplink speed of 256 kb/s. Customers can choose from two tariffs - Internet 4G Standard or Internet 4G Premium - and two terminals: a desktop modem for PCs and a PCMCIA card for laptops.

Internet 4G is currently available in Prague and coverage is now being extended to other cities. More than 50 percent of the Czech population will be covered by mid-2006.

(Press materials from the conference of 19 October 2005 are available at www.t-press.cz).

Mobile music - t-music videozona
All music fans can now enjoy the music videos and songs of their favourite artists anytime and anywhere. Thanks to the t-music videozona application, they can view and listen to the greatest hits of their favourite singers and bands in their mobiles, for the time being free of charge. The service, which will be officially introduced at Invex, will be made accessible to customers on 15 November 2005.

Users can now choose from over 50 videos and the offer will be significantly extended by the time the service is fully launched. In the t-music videozona application, all customers can easily find and choose their favourite artist, including, for example, Chinaski and their current no. 1 hit Tabáček. For each recording, it is possible to play an audio or video version and view a text description. In addition, users can directly order polyphonic ringtones for their mobile phones.

The t-music videozona application, which in the first phase is intended for mobile phones with the Symbian system, can be found at www.t-zones.cz and www.t-music.cz, where it will be downloadable free of charge on the day the service is launched. Customers using EDGE-enabled phones can look forward to high-quality videos and there are audio recordings for those using GPRS access. All necessary information on how to enjoy music without any limitations can be found on the t-music website.

For customers who want to enjoy some hot innovations, there is a "tasting" in the form of a new section on the t-music portal (www.t-music.cz). Starting on Monday, 24 October, selected music videos will be available here in the form of 30-second demos, supplemented with a range of ringtones, Caller Tunes, pictures, etc. related to the given recording.

The t-music videozona music portal uses the multimedia platform VIZGOTM which has been developed by U-Turn Media Group. For more information on U-Turn Media Group, visit www.u-turnmediagroup.com.

Digital TV in your pocket
The presentation of mobile TV broadcasting via DVB-H technology will start a new era of mobile communication. As part of the presentation of a project called "TV in your pocket", visitors to the T-Mobile pavilion will be able to watch both live and recorded TV broadcasts on the displays of mobile phones. TV content is provided in cooperation with TV Prima and Czech Television; excellent quality of TV broadcasting is ensured by the transmission of TV signal directly in the network of České radiokomunikace.

DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting - Transmission System of Handheld Terminals - "Handheld") technology allows mobile phones to receive digital TV signal. This signal is propagated via the standard - not mobile - transmission network, which means that users can watch their favourite programmes anytime and anywhere, even when on the move. The number of active users does not limit the quality and speed of signal transmission in any way.

In addition to watching TV, customers will be able to try out brand-new interactive services in the area of TV broadcasting, such as downloading ringtones related to the currently broadcasted music video with a single click. Another option is on-line voting in the music chart, the current status of which can be watched continuously.

Partner solutions
An indispensable part of T-Mobile's participation in this year's IT trade fair will be a presentation of mobile solutions designed for business clients. Visitors to the pavilion will be able to familiarize themselves with innovations in the area of partner solutions. The products presented will include, for example, car fleet management, remote and mobile data collection and telemetry products. There will also be mobile office solutions, represented by solutions from Ad-Hoc and Sybase.
