Another three cities with high-speed mobile internet
HSPA+ 42 on 720 transmitters
T-Mobile’s 3G network has been the fastest one for 19 months already according to independent measurements
Prague, 20 May 2013 – T-Mobile is launching HSPA+ 42 in three more cities. Fast surfing can newly be enjoyed in Hradec Králové and Plzen. Karlovy Vary and the centre of Prague will be added by the end of the month. Currently, the high-speed technology covers 20.46% of the population with 720 transmitters. However, 3G technology is not lagging behind, showing a 110% year-on-year increase in the volume of transmitted data and twice the volume of voice traffic.
“We never stop improving our network. We want to provide our customers with the best possible user experience of excellent quality enabling really fast data transfers. For example, in terms of 3G technology, we are demonstrably the fastest, which is also confirmed by independent measurements carried out by the DSL.cz server, where we have been on top for 19 months in a row,” says Michal Podlucký, Senior Head of Category & Product Management.
At the start of the year, the operator covered the areas of Olomouc, Pardubice, Nymburk, Jihlava, Trutnov, Vrchlabí and Prague’s Václav Havel Airport with HSPA+ 42. However, the technology, which enables surfing at a maximum transmission speed of up to 42 Mbps for downloads, can now also be enjoyed by residents of Brno, Liberec, České Budějovice, Mladá Boleslav, Zlín, Otrokovice, Poděbrady, Beroun and part of Prague.
Although the population percentage does not seem very high, the signal from the cities also covers neighbouring areas. Fast surfing can thus be enjoyed in another 67 municipalities, including villages with charming names such as Vráto, Spojil, Plandy, Úsilné, Písty, Křečkov and Žabovřesky, as well as picturesque Praskačky, Hůry, Pátek, Lelekovice and Modřice and a whole range of other interesting places.
T-Mobile really tries to offer its customers the best – therefore, it has also strengthened the fastest internet signal by means of a mobile cell site during the popular Majáles students’ festival which took place in Brno at the beginning of May. Equally reliable service and full support will also be provided to visitors of the Mountain Bike World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě, which will take place this week from 24 to 26 May.
Fast HSPA+ 42 data transfers can be used automatically by all customers with new data plans and a mobile phone or a modem supporting this technology.
