Hot Festival News in a Mobile

• information about actual events at International Film Festival (IFF) in Karlovy Vary can be obtained in form of SMS messages

Every owner of a Paegas mobile telephone can easily obtain the most actual information about events at Karlovy Vary film festival by means of SMS messages. "We cooperated with the International Film Festival last year already and we have therefore decided to support this important cultural event again. This time, we have prepared a specialty - dedicated information channel - which will provide both the festival visitors and those who will not be able to come to Karlovy Vary with information about all important events," said Tereza Kakosová, RadioMobil Press Spokeswoman. The new information channel works similarly as other channels within the Paegas Info Plus service. It is just enough to send a keyword with the "+" sign to subscribe a particular channel or with the "-" sign to unsubscribe it. Anyone interested in information from the film festival can just send the +FESTIVAL keyword to 4616. The system will immediately confirm the subscription and send the most actual message. Once this is done, a mobile telephone owner will receive all important information as well as various interests about this important cultural event - starting from weather forecast over the most important events of each day, changes in program, visits of celebrities up to interesting information from the backstage of the festival. As the festival ends on July 10, the Festival info channel will be deactivated two days later. It is possible to subscribe the information channel with ÄŚTK news using the same procedure (+NEWS, or +NEWS EKO - economical information only or +NEWS OBE - general news only), sport news (+SPORT) or traffic information which is certainly valuable mainly for drivers. SMS message with +DOP_PHA (where the "_" sign stands for space) subscribes traffic news for Prague, (alternatively CECH - situation in Czech, MOR - Moravia, DAL - motorways). People travelling abroad can utilize the service providing information about traffic at border crossings. It is just enough to send the +DOP_HRA_? message where the code of the state of interest is placed instead of the question mark (D for German border, PL for Poland, A for Austria, SK for Slovakia). All subscribers are immediately informed about any significant traffic changes. Except the activation over the mobile telephone, it is possible to subscribe individual information channels over the Internet (the Paegas Info Profil application) as well. Every user can check the information channels of his/her interest. "The information channel named shortly "Festival" will be supported by massive advertising campaign in Karlovy Vary so that every visitor of the health resort will know about it," noted Tereza Kakosová at the end. RadioMobil, Joint Stock Company operates the GSM network named Paegas. Today, the Paegas GSM network covers over 96% of Czech population. Paegas customers can travel to 67 countries and utilize roaming services in 133 networks with their mobile telephone. Over 530,000 customers utilized the Paegas GSM network services during June 1999.
