  • During a period of three weeks, fans downloaded 39,902 albums and 22,095 individual tracks by Horkýže slíže
  • The t-music Horkýže slíže tour attracted a record 15,000 concertgoers

Prague, 30 October 2009 - During the first three weeks of October, fans of the popular Slovak band Horkýže slíže downloaded almost 40,000 copies of the band's latest album from the www.t-music.cz portal. The new album titled 54 dole hlavou ("54 Head Down") thus surpassed the albums by Vypsaná fiXa and Wohnout which T-Mobile issued previously using the same ?pay-as-much-as-you-think-the-band-deserves' model. The band achieved another record, this time in the attendance figures of its t-music Horkýže slíže tour, which attracted a total of 15,000 fans. Nearly all of the concerts were sold out.

"The results demonstrate the growing interest in this form of providing music. Music fans can expect another surprise before the end of this year - the reissue of the latest album by the ever more popular artist Xindl X, Návod na čtení manuálu (Instructions for Reading Manuals). In addition to this album, we will also release its unplugged version and one previously unreleased song that Xindl X has prepared for his fans as part of this special edition," says Michal Němec, Vice President Mobile Portal & Content Services at T-Mobile.

While Horkýže slíže is number one in terms of the number of downloads, they slightly lag behind their Czech colleagues in the category of paying customers. During the three weeks after the downloading started, 2,039 people decided to pay for the tenth studio album by the Slovak band at t-music.cz, compared to 3,058 and 2,778 for the albums and songs by Wohnout and Vypsaná fiXa, respectively. But if we included the sales from the Slovak T-Mobile website at www.t-musiccity.sk, the band's totals would be significantly higher.

The money saved by the fans of Horkýže slíže on the new album was invested in tickets for the t-music Horkýže slíže tour. The tour, covering seven venues, attracted more than 15,000 fans and finished with a concert at the sold-out Incheba Arena in Prague, which was the highlight of the tour. Packed houses were also reported by clubs in Ostrava, Plzeň and České Budějovice.

Fans have already spent a total of more than half a million crowns at the t-music.cz portal
Visitors of the t-music.cz portal valued the album at more than CZK 135,000, based on the money paid to download the album. The amount collected in Slovakia was even somewhat higher, which puts Horkýže slíže at No. 1 position in the amount collected for one band. In the three weeks following the digital release of their respective albums, Wohnout generated almost CZK 216,000 in sales while the Pardubice-based band Vypsaná fiXa received more than CZK 167,000. The average price per download is similar with all the bands, between CZK 60 and CZK 70.
