Prague, 20 January 2003 - T-Mobile customers sending SMS from the t-zones portal will receive a "package" of SMS which can be sent free of charge within the T-Mobile network. All Twist and contract customers registered on the t-zones portal can start taking advantage of the free SMS offer from 4 February.
"Our first step was to close the SMS gate for those entities which misused it for commercial purposes and sent several million of SMS each month without contributing to operational costs. Today's offer has been prepared for our customers who got accustomed to sending SMS via the Internet. Those who are registered or will register on the t-zones portal will receive a package of SMS which can be sent free of charge within our network," says Roland Mahler, Managing Director of RadioMobil.
When sending SMS from the t-zones portal, users of MobileBox will receive a package containing 100 free SMS per month within the T-Mobile network; customers using MobileBox Easy or MobilePager will receive 20 free SMS. For the majority of Twist customers, twenty messages represent an average number of SMS sent per month.
Customers will be charged for SMS sent over the limit of their allocation of free messages and for SMS sent to the other networks according to their respective tariffs. The same pricing will be applied to the forwarding of all e-mail messages in the form of SMS from MobileBox, MobileBox Easy and MobilePager to mobile phones. These services will offer extended filtering options for forwarding e-mail messages and customers will thus be able to define which types of messages will be forwarded. E-mail notifications via SMS to mobile phones will remain free of charge.
