Beginning on February 1, all RadioMobil customers can start taking advantage of new prices for Paegas Internet Call services by calling anywhere in Europe for 9.50 Kč a minute and to selected countries outside of Europe for 12.90 Kč per minute. "Since its unveiling at the midpoint of last year, Paegas Internet Call has become very popular, and that's why we want to keep offering it to customers. Of course interest in the service was fueled by its price, so Paegas Internet Call is now an even more attractive offer than ever," said RadioMobil press spokeswoman Tereza Kakosová.
Paegas Internet Call was introduced at the beginning of July and shortly after won a prestigious Crystal Disk '98 award while on display at the Invex-Computer Brno 1998 International Information Technology Trade Fair.
With the unveiling of Paegas Internet Call, RadioMobil became the first - and still the only - GSM operator in the world to offer its customers calling abroad via the Internet. "We try to offer our clients the newest services out there, ones which enable them to make even greater use of their Paegas telephones, and Paegas Internet Call is precisely that kind of service," said Robert Chvátal. Paegas Internet Call is simple to use - a Paegas mobile telephone and an accompanying tariff program are enough to give everyone access to the world at extraordinarily low rates. All callers have to do is enter a designation code before dialing an international number, and the system then responds by routing the call through the Internet. There are two such numbers: 42 for communication within Europe and 44 for the rest of the world. The designation codes are also used in billing customers, just 9.50 Kč to Europe and 12.90 Kč to the rest of the world (during both peak and off-peak hours).
International calls
Rates for international calls will be adjusted in February, bringing the price of a call to the United States down 34 crowns per minute. Callers who use the Aktiv program to call to Germany will now pay only 20 Kč per minute (2 Kč less than before), while Manažer and Diamant users pay only 18. The same rates apply for calls to Poland and Austria. Calls from within the Paegas network to most other Western European countries will cost 21 Kč per minute using the Aktiv plan and 19 Kč per minute using the Manažer and Diamant plans. Among the countries most often called are the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia, which now costs only 31 Kč per minute with Activ and 29 Kč per minute with Manažer and Diamant.
