Prague, 3 March 2008 -T-Mobile announced today the fourth year of its T-Mobile Fund grant program, which is being launched in cooperation with the VIA Foundation and the Community Foundation of Euroregion Labe. A record amount of CZK 8,000,000 will be awarded to non-profit organizations and entities this year. Each applicant can be granted up to CZK 100,000 for their project.
"We hope that organizations will be even more eager to file their grant applications this year," says Jitka Chocová, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at T-Mobile, adding: "The number of applications has grown continually since the T-Mobile Fund was set up in 2005. The main reason for this is that people's awareness of the fund is growing each year. In addition, we extended the scope of the grant program from the Hradec Králové district to the whole Hradec Králové region this year."
A total of CZK 8 million will be awarded to projects from the T-Mobile Fund this year. From this amount, CZK 5 million will be distributed to organizations in the regions where T-Mobile has its offices, i.e. in the Louny district, the Hradec Králové region and in the Prague 11 municipal district. The remaining CZK 3 million will be awarded to non-profit and contributory organizations and municipalities from the whole Czech Republic that will be selected from among those recommended by T-Mobile employees. The purpose of this initiative, which this year is being undertaken for the third time, is to raise the company's employees' interest in supporting eligible activities in the area where they live.
The application deadline is Friday, 11 April 2008, in the case of the T-Mobile Employee Fund, and Friday, 25 April 2008, in the case of the T-Mobile Regional Fund.
Applications for grants from the T-Mobile Fund can be submitted this year by Czech non-governmental non-profit organizations, local authorities, organizations whose projects are focused on improvement of the social and cultural environment and ecology or on activities that supplement community social services or that aim to restore cultural heritage.
The maximum amount which can be granted to a single project is CZK 100,000 and the project has to be implemented during the period from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009.
As in previous years, consultations will be provided in late March and early April to all applicants for financial contributions by representatives of the VIA Foundation and the Community Foundation of Euroregion Labe in the three above-mentioned regions on the following dates:
