LTE Advanced: combination of the 800 MHz and 1800 MHz bands in Mladá Boleslav
Speeds of the LTE network in Mladá Boleslav increased to 225/50 Mbps
Prague, 30 June 2014 – T-Mobile is the first operator in the Czech Republic to have launched LTE Advanced (LTE-A) technology. By combining two bands (by means of the carrier aggregation function), the download and upload speeds in Mladá Boleslav have been increased to as high as 225 Mbps and 50 Mbps, respectively.
"LTE Advanced is yet another step in our continuous efforts to offer the best mobile internet possible to our customers,” says Vladimír Klein, Technology Director at T-Mobile, adding: “We want to continue developing innovative solutions with maximum value added for our customers."
LTE-A technology enables theoretical transmission speeds of 300/50 Mbps when combining two 20 MHz bandwidths and an LTE Category 6 device. In its network in Mladá Boleslav, the operator has combined the 800 MHz (10 MHz bandwidth) and 1800 MHz (20 MHz bandwidth) bands to offer maximum theoretical speeds of 225/50 Mbps.
In addition to expanding its fastest mobile-internet coverage, T-Mobile is continuing to enhance its quality. The operator has recently announced the acceleration of its LTE network speeds in Prague to 112.5/37.5 Mbps and up to 150/50 Mbps in several locations in the Czech capital.
