The Help Stories fundraiser, organized for the 13th year, is aimed at supporting the families of T-Mobile employees who have found themselves in a difficult situation as a result of illness, injury or a sudden family event. In total, funds were collected for 20 families to cover costs associated with, for example, treatment, rehabilitation or care – a total of CZK 1,007,000 was collected (half of which was collected by employees, the other half was added by the operator).
"Every year, we are surprised and warmed again and again by the solidarity with which our employees help their colleagues when it is most needed," says Martin Orgoník, Head of External Communication and Sustainability at T-Mobile, adding: "This time too, we managed to raise the entire amount that the heroes of twenty difficult life stories asked for, and we are very happy about that."
Through the Advent calendar in the My T-Mobile app, customers also helped support the Nevypusť duši organization and care for the mental health of young people. The resulting amount of CZK 288,174 is intended for mental health science courses carried out directly at schools. Even in this case, half of the amount is from customers and the other half from T-Mobile.
"Thanks to this support, we can expand programs that help young people better orient themselves in the field of mental health and gain practical tools for caring for it. This seems essential to us at a time when the mental health of young people is deteriorating, and we thank everyone who joined our efforts in the collection," comments Barbora Pšenicová, director of the organization Nevypusť duši, z.s.
T-Mobile has also traditionally joined the Three Kings Collection, the largest charity collection in the Czech Republic – it supported it with a financial donation of CZK 1,000,000. The proceeds of the twenty-sixth year of the collection will traditionally support people in need.
"Thanks to our long-term partnership with T-Mobile, which we greatly appreciate, this year we can contribute from the proceeds of the Three Kings Collection to the purchase of a car for the care service in Roudnice nad Labem, support the activities of the mobile hospice in Cheb or repair and buy medical compensatory aids for the rental in Jablunkov," says Lukáš Curylo, director of Caritas Czech Republic.
In addition to participating in fundraisers, the operator's employees helped to fulfill 340 specific Christmas wishes. Through the Christmas Trees of Help initiative, gifts went not only to children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, lonely seniors, but also to abandoned animals in shelters.
