We are very sorry about the perception of our newest TV spot. Our intention was not in any case to belittle the Poles; e highly appreciate good relations with Poland are we do not want to disrupt them.
Success of our advertising campaigns benefits from specific humor, which is based on exaggeration and absurd situations. In previous advertising campaigns, we commented with humor stereotypes connected with other communities. Although we regret expressed concerns, we believe that the spot only uses hyperbole conventional in Czech advertising environment and the advertisment does not exceed ethical or legal standards. Slovak TV advertisment, wittily pointing at some typical Czech stereotypes, was recently evaluated in the same way in Slovakia.
Given that relations with Poland to be very important, CEO of T-Mobile has offered a personal meeting to the Ambassador, to discuss the whole situation. Although the Ambasador has not replied yet, we decided to withdraw the spot from TV and on-line com channels.
