Traffic in the T-Mobile network during this year's New Year's Eve confirmed that people are shifting the exchange of New Year's greetings with their loved ones primarily to the online space. According to the operator's statistics, the network carried nearly 3,358 TB of data during New Year's Eve, a year-over-year increase of 26.55%.
A total of 3,619,489 classic SMS were sent from mobile devices. The decline compared to January 2025 is thus over 23%.
The number of completed outgoing calls also dropped by 2%, to 10.76 million.
Overall, more than 20.867 million calls (incoming and outgoing, i.e., a 1.49% decline) took place in the T-Mobile network during New Year's Eve night.
As usual, it was confirmed that people want to hear their loved ones after midnight and wish them all the best. The highest number of calls was recorded, as always, during the first 15 minutes after midnight.
